Sharing a layout - Park Drama

Today, I'm sharing a quick layout I made this past weekend. It focuses on our Shakespeare in the Park experience from last summer.

I'm playing around a little bit with how I shoot the pics of my layouts. You can see a bit of my uber sophisticated setup here - hahaha.

For the title treatment, I used a Studio Calico card with some new semi-transparent Amy Tangerine letter stickers that I snagged at Tuesday Morning a couple of weeks ago. I thought the cork piece added a bit of flair to the title treatment and repeats the circle embellishments I use elsewhere on the page.

Here's a look at the journaling - also on a 3 X 4 card. Y'all know that's how I like to handle journaling. You can also see here that I used some cardstock phrase stickers to fill up the rest of the area between the photos.

I'm so proud of myself for using a piece of ephemera on this layout. This playbill was given out along with the program for the evening. I'm thrilled that I actually used some ephemera for once instead of just collecting it!

I used a bit of wash tape along the top of the playbill and again along the left side of the title card and on the bottom right of the layout as well. I like doing that because I think it unifies the layout more than just using washi in one spot would have done. You can see the whole left hand side of the page in this shot.

Here, you can see the right hand side of the layout altogether.

And here is the final version one more time. I definitely liked using some of the Studio Calico paper I ordered during one of their recent sales as well as incorporating two full-size photos and a piece of ephemera. It was a pretty simple layout that came together quickly, and I'm super pleased to have told this story.

  1. What a great piece of ephemera -- really fun, attractive, distinctive and sized nicely for a layout. (And now I'm wishing for wood grain washi! FOMO! lol)
