Craft stores in Paris - Loisirs & Creation

 One of the days that it was over 100 degrees in Paris, I decided to go on a hunt for craft stores. The stores will have a/c, I told myself. I'll walk in the shade, I planned. It'll be a cinch. Well, it didn't quite turn out that easily, but I did find some pretty cool stores. Loisirs & Creations is actually on the second floor of a toy store, and there is no sign outside for it. I was so glad I took the risk and headed in the children's store. If I hadn't, I wouldn't get to share all of these pics with you. I kept the pics relatively small so they'd load faster, but you can always click to see them bigger.

I've since discovered that there are a dozen locations of this store across France. I feel sure I visited the most difficult one to find from where I am; that's just how I roll. If you'd like to go to this exact store, you can find it at 120 rue d'Alesia - take metro line 4 to Alesia station.

Sharing a layout - Recital 2014

Here's a fun layout I made right before my trip to Paris; it focuses on some candid shots of Kelsey at last year's dance recital.

This first photo focuses on Kelsey with one of her dancers; trying to choose paper that sort of went with her dress was a bit of a challenge since it was such a busy print. I love it, but it didn't make mixing patterns easy for sure.

In this pic, you can see the journaling a bit more closeup - if you like to read that sort of thing. Of course, I used a PL card for the journaling; that's just my thing.

Here, you can see the tital block. I started with an envelope that I thought had great pattern and texture, then I added letter stickers on top. (They were ancient ones - Doodlebug maybe?)

Finally, here's a look at the completed layout. I think it's a fun mix of patterns and colors that manage to tell a little bit of the story of Kelsey as a dance teacher.

Sharing a layout - This Way Delphi

Here's another layout I made while I was killing time before my new flight left for Paris. For this layout, I used mostly papers and embellishments from a single collection. That definitely made it easier to make sure everything matched. :)

Sharing a layout - WKU College Days

After my flight to Paris was bumped an entire day, I came home to snuggle Lowder-dog and scrapbook a little bit. Here's one of the layouts I made that day.  I had this pic of me wearing a WKU tshirt after having been to a ballgame there, and I started thinking about how I really have never scrapbooked my college days. Well, I decided to remedy that.

I started with some of the new Creative Agenda paper, and I added some WKU paper I've had literally for a decade. I have no idea where I even managed to find that - mayble a LSS had it at some point. I created my title out of Jillibean Soup stickers - they are a fave go-to sticker of mine. Then I added several different kinds of embellishments, some washi tape, some flair, some printed diecut pieces, etc. I'm pleased with how it turned out and hope you enjoy taking a look.

Here's the finished version! I haven't scrapbooker about my college days much, so I was glad to share a little bit from this chapter in my life.
