Sharing a layout - Vatican

The travel bug is making me itch! I can't wait to hit the road again, so last week I decided to make a layout about a trip to Italy I took with students in 2012.

In this photo, you can see the title as well as the journaling block. I don't usually journal with a colored pen, so this was a little bit out of the box for me.

I loved that I was able to incorporate three full-sized photos on this page. I did crop a little bit from each to get rid of dead space, but I'm super glad that I didn't stick with my tendency to only make a single photo page.

I also decided to put one of the photos on a bit of a tilt to add a bit more interest. I think that draws attention to the title block and the journaling which is what I wanted.

The paper I used was from an old Studio Calico set that I ordered on clearance around the holidays, but the embellishments were part of a new line from Crate Paper, I think. I liked how they went together tonally, and the pops of salmon really make me happy.

There you have it - the finished layout. Have you made any travel layouts lately? I'm always looking for great ideas to scrapbook my many, many trips and photos. :)
