Sharing a layout - Capture the Moment

Today, I'm sharing a layout I made this past weekend about my most recent trip to the beach in Florida. As usual, it features a selfie that I snapped with my iphone. When I saw the colors in this pic, I immediately thought of using Simple Stories. I guess you could say this is primarily a product-driven layout since all of the supplies I used came from Simple Stories.

In the top photo, you can see how I used multiple cut-apart cards to create my title and as embellishments. I layered various stickers from the same line to create a sense of continuity and movement on the page. I think the capture the moment sticker actually came from an Echo Park sticker sheet, but everything else should be SS.

In this pic, you can see the small embellishments I added to the pic on the right and to the journaling card to try to make things a bit more cohesive.

And here's a closer look at the journaling card and cluster of embellishments just to the left of it. While I did leave some white space around each element, I think they still function as a unit since they're grouped so closely.

I really like the idea of using tiny elements in the corners of photos to draw attention to various elements; you can see that I did this a couple of different time on this page.

Take a look at the finished layout. The richness of the colors and the linear quality of the layout design both really appeal to me. The beach and Simple Stories just make me happy in general, and I think that def shows in this page.  :)
