Sharing a layout - Happy Birthday

Here's another quick layout I made last weekend; this one is about my birthday at the beach a few years ago. I started this layout by choosing three PL cards and then found some Dear Lizzy paper that matched and just made me happy. The documented sticker tab was Jillibean Soup, I think.

My journaling isn't especially earth-shattering or anything, but I thought it told the story pretty well. You really don't have to write a lot in order to get your story told.

I used a printed, glittered diecut for the title; I think this one was K& Company. I like it because it serves as a nod to the purpose of the layout but isn't overpoweringly cutesy. The trio of hearts came from a Dear Lizzy sticker booklet. (I'm not a super cutesy person, so I didn't want to go overboard with the birthday embellishments.)

The small Jillibean Soup sticker is another nod to the birthday theme of this layout. I included bits of washi tape around the layout in a triangular pattern to add a bit of whimsy.

And here's the complete layout. I'm sure many of you have scrapbooked your children's birthdays, but have you scrapbooked your own? I'd like to challenge you to make a page about one of your own birthdays as an adult. Go on, it might be fun. :)

  1. I just did a mini (CM 7x7) book of my surprise 40th party from February. Having no kids, I try to always document what we do for each other's birthdays.
