Currently list - February 2018

I haven't done one of these kinds of posts in a while, so I thought I'd share my "Currently - February 2018" list with you. Maybe some day I'll even return to this post and use it as fodder for a layout or something. Do you ever do that with  your own social media or blog posts? Anyway, I digress. Read on for all the currently bits...

Listening

Big Little Lies soundtrack - it's fabulous!
Lots of Spotify, especially Ed Sheeran and Chris Stapleton playlists

Avoiding

Grading a set of Antigone open response essays and a Julius Caesar essay exam
Prepping for my tax appointment at the end of the month
Cleaning out my closets even though it REALLY needs to be done

Cooking (I use that term loosely)

Avocado toasts in lots of different variations
Homemade cream of mushroom soup a la the Pioneer Woman (ridiculously good)
Easy chicken salad (eaten on crackers or on everything pretzel crisps)

Reading

Timeline by Michael Crichton (about midway through)
Mrs. Fletcher by Tom Perrotta (just started)
Origin by Dan Brown (checked out and waiting on ipad)
Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow by Yuval Noah Haran (checked out and waiting on ipad)

Watching

The Mindy Project on Hulu (I'm late to the party, I know, but it's fabulous! And I don't like sitcoms.)
Brittannia on Amazon (It's really bloody, but I'm trying to stick with it.)

Planning

*My class for the ScrapGals retreats this year
*Ways to incorporate my OLW - CARE into my life in an intentional way
*My trip to Portland and Seattle this summer
*Home improvements before my European houseguests arrive this fall
*About a hundred crafty projects that I can't wait to make

Failing

At housework and fitness right now. I'm just so tired when I get home in the evenings that I don't want to do anything except stare into space at the television or read. I'm sure I'm not getting enough sleep, but making myself go on to bed at a decent hour on a school night is an ongoing problem. The real issue is that I'm resentful of the things that take away from creative time or fun time. (I battle that inner 12 year old self constantly as you can see.) I'll be forcing myself to do a bit of housework when I get home from work today, but I really need a whole day to address some neglected items. And I made it to the gym once this week already, so my goal is at least one more session this week. Surely, I can talk myself into at least twice a week and hopefully more. Surely...

Looking

For a bathing suit I don't hate for this summer; I'm even willing to pay full price
For a black ruffled apron to have monogrammed
For the perfect cross-body purse for travel
*Y'all be sure and let me know if you have any sources for these items I'm trying to find!

Happy Valentine's Day, my friends!
