French Riviera in review - with students 2016

We didn't spend much time in the French Riviera, but we made the most of the time we had. After driving through Cannes, we spent the night in Arles. It was Sarah's birthday, so Widener and I took the kids bowling for some after dinner fun. Lieke and I arranged for Sarah to have cake and macaroons to celebrate her birthday, and we all sang to her at the bowling alley. I didn't bowl but enjoyed watching the kiddos.

The next morning, we drove to Nice and made a quick stop of a couple of hours to explore there.

I enjoyed visiting the market in Nice. I bought some strawberries and a peach; the strawberries were the sweetest I've ever eaten. I wish I'd bought a kilo of them!

Nice is another city I might like to visit on my own sometime. While the beach isn't very pretty, I do think the water is gorgeous and like the laid back vibe of the area as a whole. I'm afraid it would be too expensive to visit for long though. It is the playground of the rich and famous, after all.

Happy Independence Day to everyone back in the USA! I'm not sure what I'll do to celebrate here in Madrid, but I hope to mark the occasion somehow. πŸ˜ŽπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
