Jewelry Crafting

Maybe I'm the only person who does this, but I have a tendency to pick up jewelry making supplies whenever I see something interesting or something on sale. The thing is that I don't really make jewelry. As you can see, I've managed to amass quite the collection. While all of my jewelry crafting items still fit in the tiny tote I've allotted in my craft closet, it has reached critical mass. I need to use some of this stuff.

Of course, I have collected some pretty cool things along the way using this method. :)

And I have some cool supplies waiting for me when inspiration strikes.

All I managed to do this session, though, was repair two broken bracelets. One of them has this Kentucky charm on it that I just love. I plan to wear it while I'm traveling internationally this summer; it'll be a little piece of home right on my arm.

And I also repaired the engraved id bracelet that has the longitude/latitude coordinates for Paris. It's my goal to collect these for all of the various places I live around the world.

Now, I'm kind of inspired to work on a couple more projects. In fact, I'd like to use some of the supplies I have to make a couple of boho-style necklaces and maybe a bracelet or necklace as a remembrance for Lowder-dog. If I do make some cool stuff, I'll be sure to share it here on my blog.

Update: I did go back and work on a few more pieces. Here, take a look at what I created.

Tell me, do you make jewelry? If so, what are your fave products or tutorials or you-tubers? I might need some more inspiration...just saying...

  1. Love the longitude/latitude idea. Very cool.

  2. Love your locket. I have a box of jewellery supplies too, that need culling/using. Too many cheap plastic beads in my box.

  3. I like to work with beads, especially pearls. I have irregular pearls that I have purchased on my trips to China.

I find the Fire Mountain Gems site very inspiring. Like you, I have a bunch of stuff, and need to use.
