Hey there! Today, I'm sharing a fun layout I made a few weeks ago about a restaurant I tried in Nashville with Tracie last summer.
I had these rubbery plant pieces that I'd always wondered how I'd possible use. Well, I managed to use those as well as this giant leafy frond paper at the same time. Winning! I also incorporated some turquoise washi tapes.
Do you have these chipboard frames? Well, I have a small collection of them that I rarely use, so I was super excited to be able to use them on this page. I think it draws attention to this 4 X 4 photo pretty well, giving it some substance on the page. I repeated that rubbery leaf as well as a few other chipboard embellishments on the frame to make it more of a focal point.
I left the other photo without a frame, but I did include another leaf and a label to accent it.
I was most excited to use this little bag from the restaurant on the page, and I really ended up designing my whole layout around it. I thought it set the color scheme and tone of the layout perfectly. You can also see that I put another chipboard frame around my title to give it some visual weight and importance on the page. I liked the sense of continuity that using frames twice on the layout created.
Here's a close-up of the journaling I wrote for this layout. I know some of you like to read that kind of thing.
I really like slipping the journaling into this bag, especially since I didn't really love the restaurant.
One more look at the finished layout - hope you like it!
High five for using ephemera *and* older stash items on one layout! Woo hoo!
