Glimpses of Paris - a look back

I'm missing Paris an awful lot today, so I thought I'd use this Throwback Thursday post to share with you some images of the city that I haven't been able to let go of quite yet

The Parisians know how to do glass recycling right. After all, these people drink a lot of wine.

Bookstores on every corner for every genre and interest...

What would it be like to live in a city where even the doors are pieces of beautiful architecture?

Parisians know how to do picnics, and they take opportunities to have them often.

Pretty much everyone has a dog in Paris, it seems, and they often meet up for impromptu doggy greetings.

I'm not sure why Parisians love carousels so much, but I do think they're beautiful. I don't ride them, of course, because old girl doesn't do well on rides that go 'round and 'round.

Flowers are for sale on every corner; it's hard to resist them.

Even water fountains are like little sculptures.

Paris in the pre-dawn hours is quietly beautiful. This city stays up late and sleeps in late too.

Even the metro stations display amazing pieces of art - taking the subway becomes a visual adventure as well as an auditory one with all of the musicians who try to make a buck there.

The bouqinistas along the Seine are always fun to check out as you stroll through the city.

Oh yeah, I miss the castles too. I mean, we just don't have anything like this in the USA.

I'll be sharing more Parisian pics on upcoming Thursdays. Feel free to stop in and reminisce with me for a while. :)  Au revoir!
