The Capitol Steps - Satire at its finest

I love teaching satire. And watching satire. And reading satire. And trying to write satire. My seniors just watched Gulliver's Travels and have been discussing satire some. Their assignment for tomorrow is to read "A Modest Proposal" which is another piece of satire by Johnathan Swift. Whenever I teach satire, I love to use these clips from The Capitol Steps. If you don't know this group, I highly advise watching these. You can see all five of my fave videos of theirs in less than 15 minutes, and it'll be time well-spent. I think it brings up some great questions about the way we do things in this country right now.

Take a look and let me know what you think. Happy Thursday!
