Merry Christmas in review

Here's a look at our Christmas festivities beginning the Sunday before Christmas.

First, I went to a party at David and Charlene's house.

Yep, I snapped a selfie once I got home. I'm classy like that. Hahaha!

I finally finished wrapping gifts on Christmas Eve. No, I didn't really enjoy it, but I am pleased with the results.

On Christmas Eve, Kelsey and Jake met me for early Mass. I didn't take pics there - what was I thinking? Oh right, I was busy praying and stuff. I guess it's okay that I don't have pics to document it. Once we got home, Kelsey and Jake opened up their gifts from me. I'm pretty sure they liked most everything - go me!

After that, the fella came over and all four of us headed to another party at Bobby and Lisa's house. I only snapped a couple of pics there because I was too busy eating and chatting and relaxing.

After that, the kids headed to their next event while the fella and I went home to catch an episode of Ascension before we went to midnight Mass at the local Episcopal church where I used to be a member. I did manage to snap a couple of pics since we got there so early.

It was a lovely service, and the fella and I came home and exchanged our Christmas gifts after that. I didn't take any photos then because I wanted to just enjoy the moment. Christmas morning, I made breakfast for us, then the fella headed to Nashville to pick up his son and spend the day with his family. I napped and made quiche and basically was a slug. Here's a pic of Kel and Jake who stopped by unexpectedly late Christmas morning. Even in their pjs, they're adorable. (No, those aren't their new Christmas jammies - they forgot those at my house!) In stark contrast, I was wearing a ratty gown and was completely unworthy of photography. Trust me on this!

Christmas evening, the kids and I headed over to my uncle's house to celebrate with his family. They serve breakfast for their Christmas evening meal, then everyone plays dirty Santa.

Back at my house Christmas night, I opened my gifts from Kelsey and Jake.

After the kids left, I snapped a couple of Christmas selfies - just because that's how I roll.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night! Haha!

Seriously, I hope you were able to spend the holidays celebrating with people you love and that your dreams for Christmas were able to come true. Now, we have a brand new year to look forward to - one that is hopefully filled with more blessings and joy than any you've experienced.

  1. Well, I typed a huge comment and now it's gone! I'll condense... I am backing you up on the selfies. I have never liked having my picture taken, even as a child. I am now approaching 50 and don't have a lot of pictures of my younger years. When I upgraded to an iPhone 5 just before a vacation, I took a million selfies of me with the scenery and husband in the background. It became a running joke with my friends and family also, but I now have pictures of me. Loving the Scrap Gals podcast!
