A night at the symphony - Holiday Pops

Last Friday night, the fella took me to the symphony at WKU to enjoy their Holiday Pops concert. It was a mildly chilly, quite rainy and windy night, but I thought this photo looking out onto the city of Bowling Green was quite pretty.

Here's a shot of VanMeter Auditorium on the campus of WKU where the symphony was held.

Here are some shots of the musicians... There was the symphony itself, a performance by a guitar ensemble, and some performances from the choir as well. Both students and community members were part of the performances. They played a selection of holiday music that I recognized for the most part. If the music doesn't have words, I struggle to enjoy it. The only exception to this is when it's an instrumental piece that I know so well that I can sing along in my head with it. Haha! (I'm so not the high-brow type...)

This old building is gorgeous; here are a couple of shots of the interior as I waited for the fella to get his giant umbrella from the concierge.

And here's our selfie as we waited for the symphony to start. We got dressed up and everything to make it an extra-special evening.
If you have the chance to go to a symphony this holiday season, I hope you'll consider it. It was definitely a fun way to spend a Friday evening. :)
