The tulip tree on the corner of my house rarely looks this great. Often, it's bitten back by a late spring freeze. This year, it's gorgeous. I love looking out the window of my studio space and seeing these flowers and buds.
Note to self: this is why you need to get the leaves out of your flower beds in the fall. My hostas seem to be in great shape. Lots of different sizes, colors, and leaf shapes are peeking through the leaves and twigs to show themselves. I transplanted a bunch of them last year, so I'm excited to see how big and lush they will be this year. I have lots of shade around my house, so hostas are my friend. Does anyone have any other flowering shade perennials you'd recommend?
Here's the view from my front yard looking down my street. I love the blooming trees!
This lovely tree separates me and my neighbor. I appreciate the shade in the summer and the vibrant colors in the spring.
Here's the front of the Lowder casa - pops of green abound, but it looks like I need to mow and trim this week. I also need some pansies for my window boxes. I predict a field trip to Lowe's or Home Depot in my future this week!
Peace out, peeps!
