Traveler's Notebook Update #2 - Europe 2016

I thought I'd share with you today some of the progress and plans I've made in my traveler's notebook for my Europe 2016 travels. It's a loooonnnggg way from any sort of completeness, but I thought some of you might like a peek into the process I'm using to approach the project. In fact, I'm going to a crop this weekend with Tracie and hope to accomplish lots for this project while I'm there.

I don't plan on making a separate full-size album for this trip. Rather, I want to use these three cahier sized  TNs and bind them with a ribbon or clip or even store them in a box once they're finished. At some point, I could choose to do some PL style pages, but even that's not in the works as of now.

Part of the high tech approach I'm using is writing my plans on post-it notes as I work through the albums. Haha!

Sometimes it's a reference to journaling or pics or even a design element...

I worked on a couple more sketches using some tracing paper. I'm looking forward to coloring these. Here's a rough sketch of St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican.

On this spread, I have writing but want to add tickets and receipts in the empty space. Sometimes I left room for that kind of thing. And I haven't started journaling for some days, so I'll have freedom to include ephemera on those pages for sure.

Each notebook has a flap in the back where I plan to slip in an envelope of extra ephemera items that don't make it on the actual daily pages.

Here you can see I've trimmed the page out with some Washington tape and a title; just waiting on a pic now.

Here's another page where I've started some decorative elements.

And another sketch I began of the 2,000 year old aqueduct in Segovia. Lucky for me, it's just curves and lines.

Quick glimpse of another page I've laid out somewhat.

And here's a sketch I did by tracing a fashion coloring page - it'll go with the story of taking pics for my blog post about fashion observations in Madrid.

Here's the start of another couple of spreads with some decoration in place although I'll do much more with it.

And here are all three TNs in progress. I'm working on a photo order online right now in hopes it'll arrive at my house in KY before I go to the crop on Friday. Fingers crossed that it works! I hope you'll stay tuned to see how this project comes together!
