January Midori Planning

For Christmas, my fella treated me to a real Midori, and I absolutely love it! I thought I'd share with you how I'm using it for the month of January.

The leather is a lovely chestnut color, but I'm a little worried that it will scratch easily. I'm being very careful with it, partly because I'm worried about the scratch factor.

In the front of my Midori, I'm keeping my monthly Cocoa Daisydori insert. Check out the lovely embossed cover of the Kraft insert. It says Start Here.

You can see the embossing a little differently from the side.

The first page is a dated monthly calendar. At the end of the month, I'll prob add stickers or stamps to this calendar page to illustrate the significant events of the month. I think I'd prefer to do that after the fact than beforehand though.

Each month, I plan to do a spread called Currently using a stamp set that I bought from rukristin. I think it will be fun to go back at the end of the year and see the progression of those categories. I might even make layouts or a mini-album based on them.

On this spread, I've started a list of creative projects on the left; it's still blank as of now. And on the right, I made a quick page about my plan to take more risks this year. I added a couple of stickers from this month's Daisydori kit and some letter stickers from my stash. You can see that more closely in the next pic.

This spread is going to focus on the planning I need to do each month to prepare for my lengthy summer stay in Spain. I haven't started the list yet, but at least I've laid the framework.

I plan on using this page to collect quotes that inspire or speak to me this month. I've just written down a couple so far. I'm not sure what I'll put in the speech bubble yet, but I like that it looks like the giraffe is talking.

Here is a glimpse at my monthly calendar by week, or at least the beginning of it. I stamped the numbers and the days of the week. As you can see, I've started writing in things that I'm doing each day or reminders that I need. Of course, there are more than this in the insert, but I don't have much planned for the end of the month yet.

The last page of the insert is one for yearly goals. You can see that I've started but not yet finished this list. I mean, I could have filled it out totally, but I really wanted time to think about it instead of rushing.

There are several more blank pages that I haven't included in this post because I don't know what I want to do with them yet. I figure that it'll come to me as the month progresses.

You can see here that I have another insert in my TN. It's a blank, Kraft one that has plain pages. I plan to use it for a more artistic place to play. I might even try art journaling again, or at least a variation of it.

Here's the little pouch that my Midori came in and that I store it in to keep it clean and safe.

Here are the basic supplies I'm carrying with me it's pretty basic stuff for day to day.

Here's a peek inside my pen case - again, very basic.

Here it is all laying out side by side.

The stamped, canvas bag is what my Daisydori kit came in this month. I think we might get one each month, but idk for sure.

I keep everything inside that pouch and slip it inside the tote I take to school each day. If I'll be somewhere without my tote, then I just take the pouch with my Midori in it and a pen and slide it into my purse. I think I'm in Midori love...

  2. My midori should be delivered today from Amazon...gift to myself. May have to get on the cocoa daisy dori bandwagon after seeing yours. Unfortunately, I have an Erin Condren planner on my desk at work that is not working well for me. Love your customizations!
