10 Books on my upcoming reading list

1.  Finish The Bourbon Kings by J.R. Ward (I'm about halfway through - it's just okay at this point,  but I'd like to finish it since it's set in Kentucky.)

2. Tell the Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka Brunt

3. The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh

4. The Conde Nast Traveler Book of Unforgettable Journeys

5. Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff

6. Saint Monkey by Jacinta Townsend (Her mother was my supervising teacher when I student taught; that fact coupled with her hometown girl status makes me want to read this book.)

7. The Moral Landscape by Sam Harris

8. Uppsala Woods by Alvaro Colomer

9. Uncertain Glory by Joan Sales

10. Letters from Skye by Jessica Brockmole

    1. I'm glad to hear it! I snagged that one at the half price book store in town, so it's just waiting for me.

  2. Tell the Wolves I'm Home is very good; I ended up skimming some of it because it was due at the library, so plan to reread at some point (or listen to audio.) I just read Fates & Furies and will be eager to hear what you think of it -- it's a great book for English major types -- can you say literary allusions, kids? :-) Groff is insanely well-read and talented.

    1. Oh good - I'm glad to hear that two of my picks are good choices. I have Wolves already but need to snag a copy of Fates; maybe my school library will have it.

  3. I'll have to look into these. The only one I've read is The Language of Flowers.

    1. Some of them are things that my circle on GoodReads has read/rated; others are books that I've read about in reviews or articles online. Every now and then, I just do a search by topic or genre online and read some recommendations. I'm trying to vary my reading choices a bit and be more well-rounded in my selections, but it's a process for sure.
