Reading List

Do you find yourself on reading jags? I definitely run hot and cold when it comes to reading. I might go weeks or months without reading much of anything, then I'll read 2 or 3 books at once. Right now, I have several books on my 'to read' shelf. And by sho, I mean scattered around my house yo read right this minute.

I have The Girl on the Train and The Time Keeper, both of which I've barely started - maybe 20 pages into each one. I also have checked out some travel books on Italy, Spain, Western Europe, and Eastern Europe as I begin to explore where I might want to travel next summer. Beyond that, I have several books that I'm waiting to be returned to the library because I'd like to read them. Looks like I should get busy, right?

What are your reading habits? What's on the top of your reading list right now? Btw, if you're on GoodReads, feel free to add me to your friends list. I'm always on the lookout for reading friends and their recommendations.

  1. Loved Girl on a Train!!! I read several books at once, too. Right now I'm reading 2 books for work, Cathy Zielske's Clean & Simple, and I just finished The Happiness Project and am about to read Better Than Before. I read on my Ipad some of the time but still love "real" books!

  2. I am either passionately reading or passionately crafting, but on a good day find time for both. :-) I just finished To Rise Again at a Decent Hour by Joshua Ferris, which has literary merit, but I did not love it. I thoroughly enjoyed an ARC of the next Mitford series book, Come Rain or Come Shine. I read Unbroken last month and although it was difficult subject matter, felt it was a very worthwhile story. I didn't know much about the Pacific theater of WWII before I read it --- it was good to fill in a bit of that knowledge gap.

  3. summer is my busy reading time, with the childcare kids having more outside time taking me away from the computer & kitchen duty. This summer I think I have read 7 or 8, I lost track when I hit my goal of 5. We have a tiny small town library so my reads aren't very new release-y but new to me! I am currently on my 3rd by Beth Kendrick, a few (4) of the Stephanie Plum series, a couple by Chris Pavone, Me Before You, Summerland & Ain't She Sweet... the first Beth Kendrick one I picked up while waiting in line at the library, I had read some of the Plum series a few years ago & they are fun easy reads to grabbed some to take camping, the rest were all recommended on blogs for summer reading. haven't found one I didn't enjoy yet.

  4. I love reserving books from the library!! I've got 3 books checked out right now - Windfallen by JoJo Moyes, The Royal We by Heather Cocks and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. Just finished reading All the Light We Cannot See, The Secret Keeper, Me Before You & Calling Me Home. I read Girl on the Train earlier this year. So many great books to read!!!
