Sharing a layout - Day in & Day out

The other day, I ran into a Simple Stories paper pack at Michael's that included a series of 2 sided, heavyweight school themed paper. It was a good price, so I snagged it. Usually, designer paper in chain stores is single sided and very thin, so I was thrilled to find this. It's not as thick as the single sheet paper I've ordered from SS, but it's close. When I sat down last night to make a page, I thought it would be fun to use the new paper pack I'd bought. Before I knew it, I'd pulled out my Simple Stories hanging file folder of goodies and had started work. (I'm still working on photographing my layouts for my blog; I'm not happy that the edge of this layout didn't crop totally straight, but at least I can share the basic design with you.)

Almost everything on this page is from Simple Stories, though I did mix different lines from that company. School themed items, the daily grind collection, and even some products from one of the earlier summer collections all make an appearance here. I'm not sure who makes the washi tape, so it probably isn't Simple Stories. The clear embellishment with the circle treatment isn't SS either, but I do love it.  Here are some closeup shots of various parts of the layout:

Title block in the right hand corner - dang, that 9 doesn't want to stick. Maybe I need to stack a book on top of it overnight or something. I rarely do multi word titles, so this is a bit of a stretch for me. I'm glad with how it turned out overall though. Simple grid layout on the right hand side of the layout allowed me to include three 3 X 4 pics, a title block, a journaling block, and an embellishment block. That's a win!

Here's a closer look at the bottom right hand side of the layout with the various embellishments I attached.

In this pic, you can see the embellishments I layered over the large photo on the left as well as the journaling section. For the journaling, I just went with a list of the things that I see day in and day out as part of my job.
