12 inches

Kentucky doesn't do snow very well. Sure, we get a couple of inches here and there that melt the next day usually. Sometimes, we even get a  bit of ice that keeps everyone home for a day or so. We don't do 12 inches of snow at a time. Ever. In fact, this snow 'event' has been the biggest I've witnessed here in my entire life. As long as I don't have anywhere that I have to go, as long as I have electricity and food, as long as I have projects to keep me happy and busy at home...I'm good with the snow. Of course, this is just the first day. Check back with me in 48 hours and see if I'm still so zen about all of it, okay?

Here are a few images to whet your snow in Kentucky appetite. Lol! All of these pics were taken about midday today, but it continued to snow until about 6:00 pm.

Oh, and in case you don't think that's enough snow for this Southerner, take comfort that we're supposed to get another couple of inches on Wednesday and 3-5 more inches on Friday. :0 Wow! Did I mention that the low temperature Wednesday night is slated to be -9 and Thursday night it's supposed to be -5? Yeah, I'm not real sure 'bout all that. I may not be able to leave my house.

Stay warm and dry, peeps!

  1. 12" is a lot at one time, even for us in upstate NY that deal with snow all winter. If you're on break, staying home sounds like a good plan! You + doggies + books = good times. Stay warm! ~ Laura
