December Daily - days 20, 21, 22

Here's an overview of the three pages I scrapbooked today for this year's December Daily. Yes, I know it's the middle of January already, but I'm still chugging along and trying to finish this project. I'm hanging in there at least.

Let's take a look at each day close-up. Day 20 was one that I put in a divided page protector; I used both sides for the same day which I know some people consider a faux pas. It just doesn't bother me, so I went with it. The paper I used is some ancient Daisy D's that I still love. I misted the number 20 with Heidi Swapp black velvet (I think that's the name) and let them dry before adhering them to the outside of the page protector. I also stapled the business card for this activity to the outside of the page protector for added dimension.

On the back side of the layout, I continued the paper from the front for a sense of unity. The Noel strip was from the OA kit this year, and I adhered it to the outside of the page protector. At the bottom, I stapled a glassine envelope to the outside of the page protector, then added an old OA Christmas card and a current journaling card to it. I layered all of that with and old Basic Grey clip and a small memories sentiment that I don't know the manufacturer. To the top of that card, I added some Jenni Bowlin rubon gold stars. I like that the journaling is easy to reach and adds more elements of texture to the outside of the page protector. I guess that's kind of the theme of this particular day.

Day 21 is a regular sized page without a page protector. Again, I used some products from other manufacturers to flesh out my OA kit. The main paper is OA, but the red polka dot and the red/black squares come from a Jenni Bowlin paper. The button and polka dot washi tape are both OA, but I'm not sure where the family studio tag originated; it was just floating around in my stash. The chipboard tree is AC and the gold stars are rubons from Jenni Bowlin. The letter and number stickers are old Simple Stories.

Day 22 focused on the day that Tracie and I exchanged gifts. I started with OA kit paper, number stickers, and the journaling card but added a Santa card from an old OA line, the gift tag that came on my gift from Tracie, and some gold washi tape from Joann's. There's nothing particularly involved or dramatic about this page, but its clean lines still make me very happy.

There you have it - days 20, 21 and 22 from 2014's December Daily.  In order to finish, I only have three more days to complete. I feel like this is doable, so it's on my bucket list for this week. Anybody out there still working on your DD, or am I the very last one?

  2. I finally finished mine over the weekend by decorating the cover. It's not the most gorgeous thing known to mankind, but I'm ok with it. I think from now on I might look for albums that don't need the cover decorated! :)
