Sharing a layout - Family truths

I knew I wanted to make a layout that revealed some 'truth' since that was the topic of our podcast this week. When I shuffled through a folder of printed pics and came upon this one of my dad and brother, I knew that was a true story that needed to be told. I quickly pulled some patterned paper and some PL cards that coordinated pretty well and sat down to design my layout.

Here's a closeup of the title block: it's simply a couple of layered PL cards with letters, a wood veneer, and some washi tape as embellishment.

For the journaling, I wrote on two 4 X 6 PL cards that coordinated with the colors I chose. I layered on a tag and sticker by Jenni Bowlin to draw attention to the 'truth' aspect of things and to cover up some weird schmutz that had gotten on the corner of my top PL card. (Just keeping it real, folks.) I had a lot to write, so I continued my story on the bottom PL card as well.

Here's a closeup look of some embellishments I added to the photo block - a wood veneer and some ribbon on top of the washi tape strip at the edge.

And here's a look at the final layout. I like the design of the pics and embellishments; I like that the journaling is honest and true; I like the color and pattern scheme. I'm really proud of myself for telling this truth, especially since it's a current thing I'm dealing with in my life.
