Art journaling - Talk nerdy to me

This whole art journaling thing is definitely out of the box for me. I'm giving it a shot with mixed results as you'll see this week. I'll be sharing a few mini-successes and a few failures, so I hope you'll stop back by and check out my art journal adventure.

Caveats to art journaling - 1) I don't draw well. Only simple shapes are workable for me at this point. If it's not simple, I'll either have to trace it, or I'll have to abandon that project. The owl looked simple enough for me to try. Plus, I love owls.

Caveats continued - 2) I don't really like to get messy. That means that I have to take risks and be prepared for when they don't exactly work out. Watercolor pencils and my water brush are doable for me. It might not be THE most creative way to approach art journaling, but it's something that I can live with at this point.

Caveats continued - 3) Art journal pages have a tendency to warp and bow once they get wet. I guess I'll need to store them under a heavy book or something. This is a journey for me....art journaling is forcing me to stretch my creative muscles.
