PSA - don't drink wine and get online

So, um, yeah, today's blog post is a bit of a PSA. While it's also kind of tongue-in-cheek, there's an element of truth here too. On Thanksgiving, let's just say that I enjoyed quite a bit of wine at the two different gatherings I attended. When I finally got home late that evening, I decided to hop online and check out some of the amazing Black Friday deals. Lying in bed with my iPad and the pups and maybe some chocolate, I was relaxed and entertaining myself. Was I looking for Christmas gifts? Nope. Was I in search of household goods or things I otherwise needed? Nope. Apparently, I was on the prowl for scrapbook supplies as evidenced by the large number of boxes that have already arrived and are still in transit from that little shopping spree. Yeah, when I drink, I surf and shop too.

My order from A Cherry on Top included these Studio Calico collection packs for only $4 each!

I bought a few brand new items too, but mostly I stuck with clearance items like that package of October Afternoon letter stickers for only $7.99 each package has two sticker sheets in it in two different fonts!

Fast forward to Monday evening. After having a few well-deserved glasses of wine and wrestling with my Christmas tree and generally working my decorating groove (except for my tree which still doesn't have ornaments), I climbed into bed with my iPad and apparently ordered a new printer. Mind you, I actually DO need this. My old printer finally died about a year ago, and the hand-me-down one from my fella never would print colors properly - everything came out very red or yellow no matter what I did. This has frustrated me greatly as you can well imagine. After perusing several options, I ordered one from Amazon that arrived last night. Oh, and I also apparently was so inspired by my soon-to-arrive printer that I ordered several printables on Etsy that evening too. Imagine my surprise Tuesday morning at the Amazon and Etsy confirmation emails!

My PSA is simple then -> stay offline after you've had a bit of wine, particularly if you use shopping sites that store your payment information. I feel pretty sure I wouldn't have bought those things if I'd had to get out of the warm cocoon of my bed and find my credit card. :) Anyway, it's been fun to get these 'surprises' in the mail, but it's kind of scary to check your email and see a bunch of shopping transactions you don't even remember.(If this involved men and bars, it would be so much worse though. Right? Hahaha!) Alas, I need to get back to my Christmas shopping for other people. So far, though, my holidays are off to a rather nice beginning. I've been treating myself like a princess...

  2. (Let's try this again) This is so totally me! I might also add that it's probably best to avoid foreign-language shopping sites when drinking, particularly if it's a language you know nothing about:-)

  6. OK, I had to rush over to A Cherry on Top to make sure you didn't spend $7.99 for those letter stickers. lol To anyone else reading who worried a little, they seem to be either $3.59 or $2.99 each. (Like, really, what could I have done to help, jump into my time machine?) Excited for you to have a new printer! It looks like it prints at a really nice quality! It's like your subconscious really wants you to have fun with December Daily this year. I just bought a whole bunch of Christmas-related stuff from Scrapbook.com, but I was stone cold sober at the time. ;-)
