I think I shared with you recently how much I love the Half Price Bookstore Outlet in my hometown. Well, on Halloween, they offered a fabulous deal. For $30, you could fill up one of their totebags with as many books as possible. (I actually purchased my bag for a little more than $28 because of my teacher discount.)
Anyway, I picked up a variety of titles that equaled to a grand total of $97 if I'd purchased them individually here at this store. If I'd bought them new at a bookstore, they'd easily have been several hundred dollars worth if not a thousand.
Take a look at the different kinds of books I bought.
There are travel essays and economic nonfiction; there are history books and noels; there are destination guides and literary classics. There are craft books and memoirs. What a great collection of things to read!
Looks like I should probably stop working on my blog and start reading. Anything in this collection look good to you? Have you read anything in my collection here? I'd love to hear about your experiences.

ReplyDeleteNickled and Dimed reminded me how fortunate I am to have my education and middle middle-class life, made me a generous tipper and should be required reading for all those college is a waste people. Huge debt is a waste. Educations? Never. Sorry. Stepping down from my soapbox now.

Some authors here I'm not familiar with. Adding then to my list. It's a good thing this store isn't in my neighborhood. Four years ago my hubby gave me an iPad. I decided my book budget would be next to nothing since I could borrow from my local and many not local libraries via my iPad. I might have trouble sticking to that if I could hangout at this store. Enjoy your new books!
Great haul. I love book sales and always have a bunch of books ready for my next "read." I read Pope Joan a couple of years ago. It's good. Interesting idea.
