What I bought this week

I've been kind of a bad girl when it comes to shopping lately. That's right; I admitted it. Since I'm admitting it, I thought you might like to see what I've purchased recently. ;)

At my local Michael's, I snagged some bargain items. The kites and butterflies and clothespins and tags and twine would make an adorable spring banner for my mantel. At least that's what I thought when I laid out the $10 or so for all those things. Haha! I also snagged some deco-foil and glue on clearance! They were $2.99 each, people; that's less than half-price. I'm feeling pretty good about that. (If you're interested in the foiling trend, be sure and listen to next week's podcast!) In honor of this week's stamping episode, I also shelled out some bucks for the Ranger archival black ink pad; I already used it and agree it's pretty fabulous. Finally, two clearance embossing folders a la Heidi Swapp and some Recollections washi tape rounded out my total haul.

I went to Mighty Dollar for some tennis balls to use on my back (long story - old girl here), but they didn't have any. Alas, I just had to check out the scrappy section. There, I grabbed some large chipboard Halloween shapes by Little Yellow Bicycle that I thought might make some fun home decor projects this fall. The stickers page was worth the $1 just for the fabulous fall tree. And how could I pass up the travel pocket and Dear Lizzy pins? I just couldn't!

I do love scrappy shopping; don't you?

  2. Love the kites and butterflies. Ranger Archival is my favorite stamping ink. :-) The only thing I bought at Michael's yesterday was a package of heavy duty white card stock. In stark contrast (couldn't resist!) to their usual wimpy 40 lb card stock, they now carry 110 lb! It's not cheap, so thank goodness for coupons. :)
