Feeling stitchy

Here's a little stitchy goodness that I've been working on this week. For the first time ever, I used one of those iron-on patterns and put it on a piece of basic muslin. I've been practicing different lengths and tensions and thread weight, but I've just been backstitching.

I'd like to try some different embroidery stitches, but I didn't want to do anything too hard while I was on vacation. Wouldn't it be fun to stitch several of these in a common theme and hang them in a grouping for decor? I've framed lots of stitchery pieces before, but I think framing them in a kind of embroidery hoop fashion would be cute too.  Isn't that all the rage right now? It seemed to be from the things I saw at the Handmade Fair I attended a couple of weeks ago.

I haven't been very crafty lately, but I'm hoping that changes in the next week or so. I have tons of projects that I want to do; I just need to make them happen in reality. What are you working on right now?

  2. Thanks gals! I want to finish it and work on a grouping, but I'm not even sure where I'd hang it. Maybe it'd be cute over my mantle or something in the summertime...
