Sharing a layout - "Happy Valentine's Day 2016"

Today, I'm sharing a page I made early in the summer about my Balentine's celebration with the fella this year.

For a change, I tried to include several photos on the layout from varying perspectives. While I think it's easiest to work with just one or two pics, sometimes I like to try something a bit different.

Here's a closeup of the journaling for inquiring minds. You know by now that I'm not a gushy writer, but I still like how much info I was able to share about our experience.

One of the things I enjoyed about this layout was finding bits and pieces of embellishments to use around the page.

Ironically, I don't really like our photos on this page. I just don't think they're flattering or particularly interesting. Rather than not use them, I decided to just suck it up and include them even though I don't really like myself in them. The memory was more important than any self-critical photo hating. That's probably something I should practice more often in my scrapbooking, actually.

And here's the finished page in its entirety, one page, 7 pics, and loads of fun memories -> sounds like a good combo to me!

  1. Great idea for gifts! I am also very critical of myself in photos. Working on getting past that because it truly is about the story and the experience. This is where I am in my life, and I need to be better about embracing that. :)
