Right now

It's Tuesday night. What better time to check in on my life right now?

Right now....I have a clean sink.

It didn't start out that way. After Kelsey and Jake left last night, I went to bed with dishes in the sink. I hate to do that, but I just got lazy I guess. After working 11 hours today, I came straight home, changed my clothes, and started washing dishes by hand. I turned on the radio and tried to find the Zen of the moment. I think it worked. Twenty minutes later, my kitchen was clean. Here's the before and after.  How weird that I feel such accomplishment at just having a clean sink!

Right now...my neck is killing me.

I'm not sure if I've hurt myself unwittingly, if it's a weather thing, or if it's just part of getting older (gasp!), but my neck has been killing me for 3 or 4 days now. It has been waking me up at night. I've been wearing Aspircreme. Meds are prob the next step. It even hurts when I take a deep breath. That's majorly inconvenient, 'cause, ya know, I like to breathe. I ruptured a disc and had a discectomy with fusion at C6-C7 (basically I'm part robot) in 2007 and discovered that I suffer from stenosis and degenerative disk disease (hereditary for the most part). Here's my scar from that surgery. Sexy, eh? Anyway, I'm trying not to dwell on the possibility that I've got something major going on in my neck. Positive healing thoughts, prayers, etc. are welcome. Dang, I'm sick of hurting!

Right now...my email is out of control.

I have six email accounts. Six. Really? It's not like I'm some major CEO or something. One is for my job - the full time teaching position. One is for my part-time job - the part time online teaching gig. One is my 'on the down low' account that I use when I don't want someone to know my real name - mainly online dating. (haha- I'm sneaky, right?) The other three are my personal accounts. HEre's the thing, one is in my former married name and associated with a now defunct cable provider; another is in my maiden name and associated with that same now defunct cable provider. I'd love to get rid of them, but there's no way I can figure out how to forward my emails automatically. What if I miss something important? What if a bill is associated with those emails? What if a long lost friend tries to contact me? Breaking up is hard to do. This is def true when it comes to my email accounts. The last address is the one I actually want to use, gmail. Sometimes I get around 300 emails per day and 95% of them are CRAP. I def need to do something about the email situation and fast. How do you just end an email relationship?

Right now...I'm wearing men's flannel pajama pants,a wifebeater, and Haflinger clogs with no socks.

It. is. scary. I'll spare you the pic, but I thought you might laugh at the mental image. :) Sidebar - I needed the clogs on because I had to take the garbage around to the bin outside and deliver my recycling bin to the curb. Tomorrow is trash day - woot! woot! Secondary sidebar - am I the only person who wonders if the recycling guys judge me based on what they find out there? Just wondering...

Right now...I'm halfway through the third season of The Walking Dead and am simultaneously entranced and repulsed by the entire thing.

I can't look away. The gore and violence are def not my favorite, but I love the characters and must see what happens to them.  What will I do with my life once I'm caught up on the series? In fact, I've started rationing the shows somewhat so I won't finish as quickly. First world problems, right?

Right now...I'm excited about scrapbooking some pics of a photo shoot my daughter did with a friend of hers.

The girl who took them is in a photography class at the local university and used my daughter as one of her shooting assignments. (Idk her name/details or I'd give credit here.) In fact, I lifted these from my daughter's facebook page because she kept forgetting to send them to me via email. I love how her personality shines through in these photos - love the white space - love the energy of the series. I'm not sure what I want to do with them yet, but I'm itching to work with them. (Kelsey is a full-time hairdresser, part-time dance teacher, and full-time dance major/Arabic minor at Western Kentucky University, ergo the hairdryer in the pics. Without explanation, you might be imagining something freaky...She's a busy girl. Guess you can tell I kinda love her. Lol!)

Right now...I'm finalizing my next camera purchase.

I'm a Canon girl, so I'm trying to decide between the t5i and the 60D. While I'd love to go with the latest and greatest, I do need to stick to a budget. Still, I haven't upgraded my dSLR since 2002, so I'm thinking  this can only be a step in the right direction. I posted on twopeasinabucket.com asking for camera advice and have gotten some good feedback. If I get a good enough deal, I MAY also purchase another lens. For now, I have the original kit lens, a 50 mm portrait lens, and a 75-300 telephoto lens. Any suggestions on what kind of lens I should add to my collection? This week is the week. I'm going to purchase that baby before Monday and plan to register for an online photography course too. Wish me luck and feel free to weigh in with your opinions. :)

I think that's a good summary of what's going on in my life right now. How about you? What's your life like right now?

Have a great day and try to get your craft on in some way!

(P.S. Wouldn't this make a great scrapbook layout topic?)
